About the Artist
Inga Elín
Starting at the early age of twelve, the Reykjavík born Inga Elín has dedicated her life to the world of ceramics. She found her love for working with clay at the Reykjavík School of Arts and followed her passion to the Iceland Academy of Arts. She studied ceramics and glass in Denmark Design and was awarded by Queen Margrethe for her exceptional graduation project, a collection of handblown glassware and porcelain cups.

Her vast and ever-changing collection ranges from a playful array of animal sculptures to homeware, where she uses more simple forms with luscious surface finishes.

In 2020, Inga Elín re-opened the door of her gallery, after 25 years of absence. This time collaborating with her son Kristinn, who takes care of marketing and the business side of their brand.
The gallery, Inga Elín Gallerí, is located in a charming old house in the heart of Reykjavík’s Rainbow Street, Skólavörðustígur, at the same spot as before.
